1. General information
The goal of the subject is a conceptual approach to private legal norms and relations, to the person as a subject of rights, also in his or her family context, and to the property relations of exchange of goods and services and attribution of goods.
These approaches and goals are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), in such a way that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement:

2. Learning results
In order to pass this subject, the students shall demonstrate they has acquired the following results:
- Know, understand and distinguish private legal relations, and correctly handle the legal techniques and tools, and the appropriate methodology for the interpretation and application of legal norms; the resolution of legal questions and problems, and be able to adapt to new situations derived from regulatory changes.
-Learn to consult, handle and apply legal, jurisprudential and doctrinal documentation on a pre-professional basis, and to improve in the oral and written presentation of legal topics.
- Know and understand the legal framework of the individual in his or her social development.
- Know and apply in a practical way the most common institutions of private property law, in particular, contracts.
3. Syllabus
1. The legal system. Private law. Civil law.
2. Normative sources and jurisprudence. Application, integration and effectiveness of the rules.
3. The legal relationship and the subjective right, exercise and protection of rights. The autonomy private.
4. The subjects of rights: the natural person. Personality rights and capacity to act. Domicile, nationality and civilian residence. Civil Registry.
5. Family legal relationships. Personal and patrimonial aspects. Private legal entities.
6. Civil property law. Obligations and tort law.
7. General contract theory and new forms of contracting.
8. Civil contracts of private economic activity. Contracting with consumers
9. Equity. Real Rights and Land Registry
4. Academic activities
Master classes (T1): 30 hours
Problem solving and case studies (T2): 15 hours
Teaching assignments (T6): 25 hours
Autonomous study and work of the student (T7): 60 hours
Assessment tests (T8): 6 hours.
5. Assessment system
The student must demonstrate that he/she has achieved the intended learning outcomes through the following assessment activities:
1) Assessment of concepts and basic theoretical contents of the subject: 40%
2) Assessment of their ability to apply the theoretical contents in practice: 45%
3) Completion of teaching assignments, seminars and other tutored activities: 10%
4) Teacher observation: fulfillment of academic obligations, active attitude and participation, verifiable evolution of learning and acquisition of competencies: 5%
Types of examinations. The final assessment will include a theory and a practical part. The theoretical assessment of the subject will be done in a written exercise with a combination of open questions and interrelation of knowledge (medium and short answer) and multiple-choice questions.
The practical assessment will consist of the resolution of a complex practical case or of several specific specific cases with a final assessment of 10 points. The practical activities carried out during the development of the course may be taken into account as continuous assessment with effects in the final assessment, which will be assessed jointly and globally.
The final assessment is global, so the theory and practical parts (T2) will not be kept separately for the next call in case of failing one of the parts with a score lower than 4 (out of 10), and if the average of both parts is not 5 (out of 10) in the average value of both parts.
Teaching assignments and other academic activities may be carried out throughout the course and will be assessed prior to the final exams, and must otherwise be handed in at the final test.
The same assessment systems will be applied in the second round.
